The U.S. Postal Service issued its first commemorative “Forever” stamp in 2010 with a Holiday Evergreens set of four. Pine cones and berries are shown from four different conifer (evergreen) trees – ponderosa pine, eastern red cedar, blue spruce, and balsam fir. Pine trees are frequently used for decoration in the holiday season months, a welcome splash of living greens during the cold, dreary months.
